DRIE West Annual General Meeting
To all DRIE West members:
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of DRIE West will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, November 17, 2016. We encourage all DRIE West Members (or those wishing to join DRIE West) to attend the AGM and Lunch & Learn Networking session in Syracuse Boardroom, 2nd floor, Andrew Davison Bldg. (133 6th Avenue SE.) in Calgary; remote connection and telephone dial-in will be available for those members not able to attend in person. More details on the AGM agenda and other parts of the program will be sent out closer to the AGM date.
One important part of the AGM will be elections to the Board of Directors. The position of President will need to be filled and other director positions are open to election as well. Please review the attached document outlining the roles and responsibilities of the various board positions and contact myself, or any other member of our board, for more information or to have your name put forward for election to the Board. Contact email addresses of the board members can be found on our DRIE West website:http://driewest.org/contactus.php
We will also have a presentation following the AGM. Join us for a presentation by Chris Arthurs, Director of Resilience and Infrastructure at the City of Calgary. Her presentation will be on Calgary’s inclusion in the 100 Resilient Cities program focusing on what made Calgary one of the 100 Resilient Cities (100RC) and envisioned opportunities that 100 RC can bring to the City. 100RC is pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation and is dedicated to helping cities around the world become more resilient to the physical, social and economic challenges that are a growing part of the 21st century.
Prior to her current position, Chris was Chief of Staff in the City Manager’s Office, a member of the City’s Administrative Leadership Team where she contributed strategic solution approaches on capital projects and consultations with First Nations, Director of Recovery Operations for the 2013 Flood and various leadership and collaboration roles covering land use planning, development and delivery of emergency management systems and strategic plans and community recovery from disaster events for the past 21 years.
Chris has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters of Environmental Design (Planning) from the University of Calgary. She is a Registered Professional Planner with the Canadian Institute of Planners, and is trained I project management and emergency management.
Please register by Thursday, November 10th by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. As usual, lunch will be served onsite. Please indicate if you will be joining the meeting by remote connection so that the link and dial-in number and code can be provided to you.
Looking forward to seeing you at the AGM!
